Landlord MTD Software vs Landlord Vision
Landlord MTD Software is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Landlord Vision. We name Landlord Vision here only to compare it with our own product.
Landlord Vision pricing checked on 26 August 2026 against Landlord Vision’s own pricing page.
How we compare
Start with what’s different about this one: Landlord Vision’s Starter tier, the tier we’re comparing here, isn’t priced by a growing scale at all — it’s priced flat, then capped. The undiscounted monthly list rate straight from Landlord Vision’s own pricing page is set against our own flat annual fee. No annual-billing discount applied on either side here, and no attempt to match every feature line by line — just the same undiscounted, list-price basis every page in this set uses, so two vendors line up cleanly if you’re checking more than one.
Annual cost at 5 properties
We compare Landlord Vision’s Starter tier — its cheapest tier that can actually file MTD for Income Tax — at its undiscounted list price, against our flat annual fee.
At 5 properties, Landlord Vision costs £240 a year — against £40 a year with us, a saving of £200.
Prices shown exclude VAT, per the vendor's own JSON-LD (valueAddedTaxIncluded: false).
The vendor advertises "Save over £100" for paying annually, but does not expose a stable annual list figure for Starter in its own structured data — only the £19.97/mo monthly rate is confirmed.
One honesty check the figure above doesn’t say out loud: Landlord Vision’s Starter tier is hard-capped at 4 active tenancies, enforced on Landlord Vision’s own side, and our worked example here sits at 5. A landlord who’s just added a fifth property has already outgrown Starter — Landlord Vision’s own product would push them to a higher tier before they could file at all, and that tier’s price isn’t published anywhere we can cite. So the figure above is accurate for the fourth property and every one before it, and stops being the real number the moment a fifth arrives.
HMRC recognition
Displays an "HMRC Recognised" badge next to an HMRC logo image in its homepage hero; no longer-form sentence claim was found on either the pricing or home page. The pricing page's own FAQ separately states "every Landlord Vision plan includes MTD for Income Tax submissions at no extra cost."
That’s a badge and an FAQ line, not a paragraph of marketing copy — the shortest of the four HMRC-recognition claims in this comparison set, and we can’t check it against an official GOV.UK list because the government’s own directory of MTD-compatible software no longer exists in a form we could check it against — GOV.UK pulled that static list in mid-2025. On our side: we haven’t launched, so we carry no recognition status of any kind yet, positive or otherwise.
What happens as you add properties
This is the one vendor in this comparison set where the story isn’t a band and isn’t a per-property overage — it’s a wall. Add a second, third or fourth tenancy on Starter and the monthly price doesn’t move at all; add a fifth and the tier stops working for you, full stop, regardless of how small that fifth property is. There’s no published per-tenancy add-on price to soften that edge, unlike a banded or overage model where the next unit at least has a knowable cost attached to it. Our own fee doesn’t have a wall anywhere: it’s the same flat annual charge whether this is your fourth rental or your fortieth.
What each tool actually does
A Starter tier that hard-caps at a tenancy count, not a property count, only makes sense if the underlying product is organised around tenancies as records in their own right — Landlord Vision markets itself as landlord accounting software built that way, not as a narrow filing add-on. We’re the opposite shape by design: a single-purpose MTD tool that turns records you already keep into the quarterly updates and year-end declaration HMRC wants, with no tenancy ledger, rent schedule or portfolio dashboard to learn on top of that. If you want the fuller landlord accounting platform and can live inside its tenancy cap, Landlord Vision’s shape fits. If all you want solved is the filing itself, ours does less on purpose.
Where Landlord Vision is the better choice
Landlord Vision’s realest advantage sits in the two things covered above: a visible HMRC-recognition badge on a product you can sign up for today, and its own FAQ stating plainly that MTD filing is included on every plan, Starter included, at no extra add-on charge. We’re still pre-launch, so we can’t put either of those next to our own name yet. If you want software that’s live, badged HMRC-recognised, and won’t ask you to pay extra just to file, Landlord Vision genuinely has that now.
Which one to choose
Choose Landlord Vision if your portfolio comfortably sits at or under 4 active tenancies and you want an HMRC-recognised product you can start using today. Choose us if you’re already past that tenancy count, or expect to be soon, and would rather pay one flat annual fee that doesn’t force a tier upgrade at a fixed threshold — though that means waitlisting for something that hasn’t shipped, so if you need HMRC recognition in place right now rather than later, Landlord Vision already has the badge and we don’t.
Already past 4 tenancies, or heading that way? Join the waitlist for a fee that doesn't hit a wall.
